R U an astute person?

THE WORD FOR THE WEEK IS ASTUTE.
DEFINITION: Of keen penetration or discernment; quick, perceptive.
APPLICATION: The definition of the astute speaks directly to our ability to effectively manage our very own lives. How well we do this impact the quality of every component of our lives. As we are using the word today, the definition has reference to our awareness of the important things that influence our lives. We can become so busy with all of the details of our lives that we become oblivious to the very direction in which our lives are heading. An astute person develops the ability to keep a watchful eye on the significant things in his/her life, and to continually make wise decisions in order to advance on a regular basis. An astute person makes accurate, timely, and strategic decisions on a consistent basis in multiple areas of life. Consider these things:
· AN ASTUTE PERSON DEVELOPS THE MENTAL AGILITY TO HANDLE THE VOLUMES OF ACTIVITY WHICH IS FACED IN DAILY LIFE.
· AN ASTUTE PERSON LEARNS TO WEIGH IN ON IMPORTANT MATTERS IN LIFE AND COME TO CONCLUSIONS IN A TIMELY MANNER.
· THE ASTUTE PERSON DEVELOPS THE ABILITY TO HANDLE MULTIPLE ISSUES SIMULTANEOUSLY.
· AN ASTUTE PERSON FOLLOWS THROUGH ON LIFE DECISIONS UNTIL THEY ARE COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY.
Because life can be very complicated, changes rapidly, and appears to be growing more intense - mastery of the use of the word astute is an invaluable project to undertake. Mastery of the definition of astute is a sure sign of growth, maturity, and wisdom in the practical things of life. Thanks for reading, and until next week......................
Good Success!!!

To my teacher Ms. Kemp( now Mrs. Gales)

My name is Asjah Fedrick,
and I am a sophomore in college at Florida Gulf Coast University, in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Ms. Kemp (Gales) was my First and Second grade teacher and I would just like to submit this letter of reference and speak on her abilities and what having her as a teacher meant to me:

Ms. Kemp was not only my teacher, but she was my confidant and also my second mom. I could look up to her and ask her for advice because my own mother has passed away. Ms. Kemp was there for me when I was going through a rough time in my life and could trust very few individuals.
While she was my teacher my Dad passed away and she aided me all the way through. I am a strong young lady because of her words of wisdom and encouragement.
She has taught me some lifelong lessons that I will always remember. For an example;
I have high expectations for young men now because of her and I don’t put up with the foolishness (as she would say).
I am currently majoring in biology, ultimately to become a pediatrician. My major is very hard, but she has taught me to fight for what I want in life and most importantly how to be independent.
She sees the potential that I sometimes cannot see in myself and constantly reminds me that I am destined for greatness. She always told me that God has placed me here for a special purpose and that He has given me something that no one here on earth can take away from me and that is my joy. Through all the hurt and pain I can still smile with a selfless and humble heart like her.
Ms. Kemp has always been my favorite teacher and I still remain to have a close relationship with her after all of these years. The reason I love and care for her so much is because she is first and foremost a woman of God,
she is a woman of her word,
she is honest (even if it’s something that I do not want to hear)
and she genuinely cares for so many people.
If Ms. Kemp had a dollar you would have 75cents.
She is just an overall example of a woman I hope one day to be. Nevertheless, she is a huge supporter in my life and whenever I may need something I can count on her.
I can depend on her and I can trust her with my whole life.
She is the only teacher thus far that I am close with and she will forever be in my heart; I love her.

If you have any questions you can contact me at (XXX) XXX-XXXX. Thank you and have a blessed day!

Let's talk about it.

Nearly half of the 19 million new STDs each year are among young people aged 15–24 years

I asked a group of 11-14 year old students what topic would they like to talk about,
"Sex" was there answer

If you and your child(middle-HS) are having trouble talking about sex, join me Friday night July 19th 7-9pm @ 5376 Silver Star Road, Kingdom Life Changers International Church, and let's talk about sex with our children together.

Let's Talk About Sex!

Hello students, parents, and all concerned with the next generation of children.
I am Carolyn Denise your local, approachable, accessible author.
I am also a 7th grade math teacher. I asked each of my 6 classes, a total of 115 students, “What subject would you like to cover/talk about if we meet in the summer?”

“Sex” Mrs. Gales, we want to talk about sex!”

That answer came from students attending church weekly, not attending at all, virgins, and none virgins, our children want to talk about sex.
Hours of my time have been partitioned to reach out to not only children, but also parents that are anxious or nervous about speaking with their children on the topic of sex.
I have assembled a team of young people who will also talk and share their stories.
We will end with some Q&A, decide on our next topic, date, and prayer.

P.S. We will use real terms for body parts, and will allow the children to ask any question they would like. For this reason this session will be opened to middle school and high school students or older. Answers will be scripturally based.

While Carolyn Denise’s time is graciously donated to the children, a $5 donation is appreciated.

See you Friday from 7-9pm at Kingdom Life Changers International Church, 5376 Silver Star Road, Orlando, FL 32808 Behind McDonalds and Hardees, next to Charity and Love Agency.

You want me to do what?

'Let me see if I’ve got this right.
'You want me to go into that room with all those kids, correct their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse , monitor their dress habits, censor their t-shirt messages, and instill in them a love for learning.
'You want me to check their backpacks for weapons, wage war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, and raise their self esteem and personal pride.
'You want me to teach them patriotism and good citizenship, sportsmanship and fair play, and how to register to vote, balance a checkbook, and apply for a job.
'You want me to check their heads for lice, recognize signs of antisocial behavior, and make sure that they all pass the final exams. 'You also want me to provide them with an equal education regardless of their handicaps, and communicate regularly with their parents in English, Spanish or any other language, by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card.
'You want me to do all this with a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a bulletin board, a few books, a big smile, and a starting salary that qualifies me for food stamps.
'You want me to do all this, and then you tell me.......
I CAN'T PRAY?'

IN ALL THINGS GIVE THANKS!!!

Hello friends of Carolyn Denise, I love you guys for your continued support and want you to hang in there because some great things are being worked on behind the scenes. July 7th we'll begin hitting the streets gathering the “Good News” from all neighborhoods. I have hired two journalists and one cameraman. I also plan on having young kids give a report, “If I can get my granddaughters to cooperate.” Look for the “Good News” reports hitting you tube July 21 and each day thereafter. Let me share this with you also, I committed 40 days to prayer and sacrifice and I tell you, I have seen God do some amazing things each and every day. I met the owners of magazines, radio shows etc….Yeah of course the enemy showed his ugliest, but those events aren’t worth mentioning.
The scriptures says give thanks in all things
I will be attending my first awards show in November as, “I AM Tan” will be voted on in the children’s category.
I have to go for now, still have a proposal to complete, a doll to design, and the second book in the “I AM TAN” series to complete.
In all things give thanks!

Always remember we are blessed to be a blessing.
As God bless you financially, ask Him how you can sow back into your community.
Carver Middle School is in need of mentors and cafeteria monitors, hall monitors, and classroom aids.
Give of your time and resources today.
Over the weekend I met a beautiful black woman who testified that her tithes went from 28.00 to 10,000.
you had better believe there was hell between the 28-10,000 but in all things she gave thanks and she no longer worry if her lights will be on as she drive up to her mansion.
Won’t He do it!
I really love you guys and am praying God’s blessings cover you and yours.

You are of great value

Who has their eyes on you?

Who has their eyes on you?
Saul and David had a great relationship, David had destroyed Saul’s number one enemy sealing he and Saul’s relationship. Then, returning to town one day, the women greeted the two men with a song, giving more credit to David, the servant, instead of Saul the king. I Samuel 18:9 states,
“So Saul eyed David from that day forward.”

I ask who has their eyes on you. Who is it in your circle, laughing with you, smiling at you, hanging out with you, but in all truth is jealous of you. Maybe not even you per se, but of what they see in you. The anointing of God, the favor of God the wisdom of God, or as in David’s (the people cheering for you) case Saul heard and saw his constituent giving more credit to David than himself and assumed David was trying to steal his kingdom.

Don’t take the behavior personally, keep right on loving and serving because God sees all and knows all. We are in a spiritual fight; this is not a flesh n blood, fist 2 fist situation. The spirit knows you have been called for the job and their job is to prevent God’s plan from manifesting. So of course people we call friends, family, co-workers, church members, and acquaintances will be used as pawns against us and us against them if we do not keep our focus on the truth of God’s Word.
Chapter 24 of I Samuel (6chapters later who knows how many years are involved) Saul finally got it by releasing this statement to David :
“Saul lifted up his voice and wept, saying you are more righteous than I; for you have rewarded me with good, whereas I have rewarded you with evil. Here you have a friend acknowledging they were tripping and you have not done anything to them.
But in chapters 26 Saul is still pursuing David with the intent of killing him but finally realize that his fight was with God not David, Saul ends with this statement;
26:25 “May you be blessed, my son David! You shall do great things.”
Chap 27 starts with;
I shall parish someday by the hand of Saul”
after years of being chased, David did not believe Saul was going to leave him alone. I understand his statement. This so call friend always has something up his/her sleeve; I don’t trust her/him.
Operate out of truth and love, pray for those who use you, lie to you, lie on you, stab you in the back and do all manner of evil against you remembering it is the gift in you they are trying to stop. Keep moving, loving and serving God in all truth….God got you…

Love ya,
Carolyn Denise

Are you really open to God's daily direction?

Good Evening Beautiful People, I ask, are you really open to God's daily direction(s), because of an incident that happened Saturday 06/15/2013 with me and my response to the incident.
Ephesians: 5:19-20
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord: Give thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

How do you handle plan changes at the last minute? Do you gripe and complain, or do you obey Ephesians 5:19-20?
The one thing I do understand is that my life is governed by God and His Word and that there are no accidents concerning Him with me.
I am also assured of that with you as well. I am assured that what God started in you He will complete, and that His ways and plans are not ours. Sometimes our days and choices, and directions don’t seem to make sense, but how about we praise God through the craziness expecting the outcome to be exactly as He intended.

You may say with your mouth all day long, “I trust God with my everyday life.” But your actions to His sudden change(s) will reveal where you really live….
Blessings, Love Ya,
Carolyn Denise

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

What are you doing?
I heard on the radio a gentleman say, “I got tired of being influenced and decided I want to be an influence-er”. Immediately I thought to myself, “I can preach that statement”.

So I ask, what are you doing, are you influencing or being influenced, are you leading or following. Who are you influencing or being influenced by? Who are you leading or following?

What are you influencing others to do or what are you being influenced to do? Where are you leading others or where is the person you are following going?

I finally got it through my thick scull that there will always be leaders and followers.
As a teacher I want everyone to be a leader, but my experience and now common sense reveals that no matter how bad I want it, it will not happen. The world is set up with leaders and followers.
At times I would get angry with followers waiting to see what I was going to say or do before they made a decision. I didn’t understand followers, I thought of them as weak. But now I get it, we all are doing one of two things influencing or being influenced. Leading or following.
As a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ, I am careful with the authority I walk in, I am careful to influence others to embrace Christ, His love, and His grace. I understand that Christ has called me to lead and I don’t take that responsibility lightly, because if I am leading, there is someone trusting the Christ in me enough to follow what I am saying or doing to be truth.

What about you, what are you doing?
Love Ya,
Carolyn Denise

In all things Give Thanks!

Good Afternoon Wonderful people, I am still recovering from that terrible car accident of April 16th.
Every time I think of the fact that Tuesday after FCAT, I was outside playing basketball with my students, (I mean I was playing ya’ll, I was completely soaked after playing several games),
Tuesday night, because someone was on the phone and not paying attention, I was hit from behind and found myself needing my husband’s help too shower and get in the bed.
The doctor states my injuries are permanent and that I will never be healed. The doctor states I cannot exercise like before, just brief walks. The doctor states I will need 6 to 12 months just to learn to manage the pain, and trust me it is a painful situation I now find myself in…..
But God rules above all. I push through and I get up, I hurt but I keep moving…I think of the beautiful folks of Oklahoma and I am strength by their courage.
They have lost so much more than I and yet they are extremely inspirational and full of hope. The Bible asks that in all things give thanks, and I agree with that request, one reason being, things could always be worse. Why not embrace a heart of thankfulness? Why not choose to look at the glass as half full, it is a much better state to find one’s self in than griping all day. Give thanks in all things,
Love Ya.

Don't Text & Drive!

Well, Hello There

It has been a minute since I have written a new blog and I do apologize, but I was in a terrible car accident.
I was at a complete stop position waiting for another car to turn and out of nowhere a car ran into the back of me and pushed me onto the bank parking lot and into another car. I couldn’t see, my head was immediately flooded with pain my glasses were found in the backseat of the car on the floor by the police. The persons excuse, “I didn’t have enough time to stop” he said….

Which confirms the driver was not paying attention because I had stopped for at least 15-20 seconds before being hit. My air bag did not deploy and my head neck snapped with a force I had never experienced in my life.

I now have physical therapy three times a week for the next three months.

I was irked beyond irktivity: however I had to find the grace to forgive. I returned to work Monday April 29th and by Wednesday May 1st I was in tears with pain. My doctor stated I returned to work too early.

But enough about me
Let us now focus on you, the reader of this blog
PLEASE DO NOT TEXT AND DRIVE, TALK ON PHONE AND DRIVE OR ENGAGE IN ANY ACTIVITY THAT TAKES YOU AWAY FROM THE ROAD EVEN FOR A SECOND.

Your selfish decision can cause an innocent person a life of pain and suffering.
Do you really want another person’s life on your conscience just because you decided to text, or call someone?

Think before acting, don’t text and drive!
Love Ya,

Nothing to brag about!!!

Recently I attended a school football game and while I was watching several of my students play the game, a conversation was going on behind me that I begin to listen and pay attention to.
Several young ladies in grades 6th-8th were bragging of no longer being virgins and of acts, sexual acts, they allow(ed) boys to perform on them. The language was vulgar, and extremely disrespectful. Several young ladies spoke of how disrespectful some were and encouraged them to stop.

I would like to ask, what is wrong with being a virgin? I am planning to meet with the leader of a mentoring group at my school where a few of these girls attend on a weekly basis. In the mean time I am putting together a collection of clips of girls that are 10-25 years of age, virgins and are not ashamed.
If you are a young lady or man or if you know of one, please record a clip with the information below and submit clip to CarolynDenise@ymail.com
Age:
Are you a virgin?
Why do you find no shame in being a virgin?
Are you willing to speak with young ladies between 11 -14 yrs of age?
If you are not a virgin, what age where you when virginity was lost?
Do you regret losing virginity?
At what age was virginity lost?
Are you willing to speak with young ladies between 11 -14 yrs of age?
Thanks for doing your part in helping me help our young children find pride in not spreading themselves around sexually!

Want to know for sure if you breathe your last breath you would rest eternally with Jesus in heaven?
Repent, pray this prayer, and by faith believe God heard and moved on your behalf.

1. Confess-Lord I have fallen short, I have sinned against you, and I have not obeyed your word.
2. Repent- I ask you to forgive me of all my sins. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness.
3. Believe- Believe God heard your cry; Believe He is the Son of God, and Savior of us all.
4. That is it; with that confession you are saved. Write your new birthday down and begin feeding on the Word daily, like a newborn feeds on milk.
Romans 10:9-10
That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus: and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Let me or someone know that you gave your life to Christ today. Welcome to the family!

Are you Moving Yet?

February 16, 2013
I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day and thank you all for viewing my site.

A number of you really enjoyed my last blog posted February 9th about "living off the rest"
The Dawn I spoke of is Dawn Higgs of Freedom Financial Institution.
Dawn is a certified tax professional, and keeps me on target with taxes in both my business and personal life.
She is a Christian business professional you can trust and can be reached at
407-683-7098
Give her a call and allow her to help you with your personal, business, and or corporate taxes.

Today's hot topic,
Wisdom Warns
Proverbs 1:20-22
Wisdom shouts in the street, she lifts her voice in the square; 21: At the head of the noisy streets she cries out; At the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings: 22: “How long, O naïve ones, will you love being simple-minded? The Word goes on to say, “Fools hate knowledge”

what is wisdom screaming at you? What is she begging you to adhere to and get moving on? Every single day this week I talked to God about something, and every single day this week I heard wisdom give me instructions on what to do, however I was a bit slow in adhering to her advice.
But I got it now, I am no longer simple minded. I will no longer naively ignore her cry.

What about you? What do you hear in your sprit? What answer has God already given that you continually pushed to the curb of your mind because it is not the answer you expected? Re-read blog dated Feb 9th and move on all God is instructing you to move on and in; walk in the purpose He created you for as described in Psalms 139.

Live off the rest

Elisha and the Widow’s Oil

1 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying,
“Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”
2 So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said,
“Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”
3 Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. 4 And when you
have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”
5 So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out.
6 Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.”
And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased. 7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”

1. Single mother, like so many had children and needs, yet not the funds to cover it all.
2. She sought the Lord, and God provided an answer through His servant Elisha.
3. She obeyed the voice of the Lord and the instructions given by the prophet.
She did not complain about how ridicules the instructions sounded, she just by faith, followed them.
4. Once she found gifts in her own house, he instructed her to sell her product, pay off her debt and live off the rest.
Dawn brought this statement to my attention today,
Live off the rest
The widow made enough to pay off her debt and live. Never having to work again.
God supplied her needs. He went above all she could have thought or asked?
He, God is also providing to us wealth for our households. Talents to cash in and pay off our debts, so move on every idea, dream, vision, and or talent that God pours into you and watch your move of faith reap a profit.

Payoff all you owe, and live!

Love Ya!

Wow, Carolyn!

Hello Fans

I do apologize for not writing for almost a month, and I offer no excuses for my absence; however my new position I found is requiring more of me than I had originally anticipated.
But, here I am your approachable, accessible, author back in the saddle again.

I hope you are listening to the radio show every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00-1:15pm. Please take a moment and let me hear from you.

Love Ya
Carolyn Denise
