Blog Contest!

Good Morning Everyone,
My blog is taking on a new direction, I am part of a blogging challenge that is designed to help me become a proficient blogger. Please stay with me and share my post on all of your social media outlets. Grow with me.
Each day I will find the time to write and develop my skills. I will write what I am most passionate about, parents and students, in other words, family.

Born in the sixties, raised in the seventies I find myself embarrassed at how far parental/child relationship has declined.

As a child, I found myself begging my teacher not to call my mom. My teacher and I came up with a mutual agreement, she wouldn't inform my mom of my behavior, and I would not be a problem for the remainder of the year. She, my teacher, and I both kept our agreement.

As a teacher, I informed my 2nd-grade student I was going to contact his mom concerning his behavior. The 2nd grader wrote his mother's number down on a piece of paper handed the paper to me, leaned back in his chair and placed his crossed legs on top of the desk.
Before I continue with this true example of a classroom experience, I want to hear from you.
Where do you believe parents have dropped the ball?
Why do you believe calling parents no longer carry the weight of yesterday?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Carolyn Denise
